Q:Can the clamps adjust to close top to bottom rather than side to side. Resting the horizontal bike bar on the bottom grip while closing the top?
A:The clamp can turn 360 degrees on the axis shown in the picture, but the bar it’s mounted to cannot be moved up and down relative to the floor. If I understand the question correctly, the answer is no, it cannot be oriented in that way.

Q:How stable are the four legs on uneven ground? Does it rock?
A:To avoid the stand toppling, we suggest not using the stand on uneven ground.
